Breast Cancer Her2+

What are the chances of a recurrence of breast cancer? and the survival rate?
AI know has someone close to ductal carcinoma invasive in situ with minimal / shes conclusive HER2 + tumor 1.5 cm. She is doing a second opinion before you start somwhere and radiation lumptectomy followed by chemotherapy. I wonder how long they can live upto and the chances of a recurrence.
There are plenty of statistics out there, but I do not like trying to go for that because everyone is different. There are many factors that come in each case. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma of last year. On mammography appeared to be 1.5 cm, but by the time they had to remove the tumor was 2.5 cm. I am also HER2 + and ER / PR +. I chose a mastectomy, and had node involvement and therefore had also received chemotherapy and radiation. Because I was HER2/neu + I had a year of Herceptin. My last treatment is in two weeks. Herceptin was approved not long ago for use in treating stage EARY Her/2neu + breast cancer. I guess your friend is going to have to part of their treatment. There are many treatments available to us, and there are many many survivors. I'm glad to hear that getting a second opinion, I think is so important. I wish you his friend, the better.
